His wife filed a written complaint with the Khuthar police station. An FIR still needs to be registered by the police.
The man has been identified as Ramasheesh Kumar. He was a mason and lived with his wife, Pramila Devi, and daughter Kajal in Khuthar town, Shahjahanpur district. His wife alleged that two men from the bank came to her house on December 20 and told her husband about a bank account that had been active since 2015 in his name. “They said he had unpaid dues worth hundreds of thousands of dollars,” she said.
She says her husband tried to convince bank debt collectors that he had never opened an account. “On Tuesday, the debt collector humiliated my husband in a market and threatened to send him to jail. He was really worried and said that the amount outstanding was almost a million. He committed suicide because “He was worried and I hold bank officials responsible for his death,” Pramila Devi said.
Station agent Khuthar Dhananjay Singh told TOI: “We are in the process of registering an FIR under Section 306 (incitement to suicide) against the bank manager and another on the base. of the victim’s wife’s complaint.”
