A bank security guard reportedly opened fire on an employee and injured him in Abids here on Wednesday after the latter repeatedly teased him for a while, police said.

He fired three shots from his authorized weapon at the State bank’s Class IV employee, one of which hit him and two at the wall, a senior police official said.

The injured man, a contract worker, was rushed to a nearby hospital by some bank staff, police said.

The incident took place on the premises of the bank near the room of the security officer.

The senior police official, citing medics at the hospital, said the employee was out of danger. The security guard was taken into custody, police said.
